NunSlaughter contributes with two tracks, their own ultra raw "Damned be the Souls" and a brutal cover of the Slaughter classic "Nocturnal Hell". Slaughter contributes with two tracks ("Children of the Fire" and "Hell hath Returned") from their very first and ultra rare "Meatcleaver" demo from 1984, recorded even before their legendary "Bloody Karnage" and "Surrender or Die" demos.

HOR 018 PD: The ultra legendary second album from 1989. A follow-up to 1988's classic "In Death of Steve Sylvester", "Black Mass" continued where the first album ended. Again the band delivered an outstanding album wrapped in mystery and horror themed anthems like the opening track "Kings of Evil" (here presented in the extended version originally only available on a very rare picture 12") and the old - already by then semi-classic - "Horrible Eyes" and "Cursed Mama". But "Black Mass" also saw the band explore new territories with the ballad "In the Darkness". Like the first album also this one had obscure and atmospheric horror intros for all songs on the album which undoubtedly comes to a darkened climax in the evil title track!

Abysmal Grief will overwhelm you with their occult Horror Doom Metal wrapped in sheer darkness. Gothic in the true sense of the word and symphonic with the elaborate multi-instrumental keyboard sounds, but always ultra HEAVY with simple yet highly effective guitar riffs and sharp and twisted guitar solos! Both "Hearse" and "Borgo Pass" are among the finest songs ever written within the confines of Doom, yet the band cannot simply be labelled as merely a Doom band! The concept of the music of Abysmal Grief is based on the medianic relations with the World Beyond and the inner spiritual research by the divination of the deceased. The deep contemplation of the funereal mysticism, far from every kind of religious conviction and united to a serious and objective interpretation of occult texts, provide the starting point for the draft of the lyrics: Short novels inspired also by the interest in the Horror cinematography and literature. Consequently the music becomes the soundtrack of the story, and it has the purpose to bring the listener inside the narrated scene.

While traditional in their approach and easily labeled as "old school", Sodomizer comes across as a way more honest and dedicated band than your average run-of-the mill retro band. The album is loaded with fast Speed Metal hymns yet also reveals many other sides to their craft, like the 7+ minutes long instrumental piece "Heavy Metal Horror" which is a rather complex piece of Heavy Metal. Their influences range from the obvious to the most obscure and are so varied that Sodomizer could never become a clone of any band before them! All their (mainly horror themed) songs are spiced up with numerous samples of horror movies which creates also a very dark feeling within the catchy songs! The album is 56+ minutes of sheer power!
